Live sound performance.
Cyberhives is an audiovisual performance that explores our growing dependency on
technology within society, in which Julia uses the sound of bees as a symbol of nature’s
delicate balance. The hum of a bee transitions into the soundscape of a crowded city
and progressively undergoes a digital metamorphosis, distancing itself in totality from
its organic origins and delving into the realm of digitized sounds.
Performed at The Akousmatik Bush; a biweekly experimental sound event series in Berlin, that has taken place in the open air throughout the summer of 2020, curated by Wei Kang Beh and Sid Talukdar. Performed at the Performance Garten Festival Köln 2020.
